UN once again adopts resolution calling for immediate unconditional ceasefire in Gaza

The United Nations General Assembly once again adopted a resolution calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.

The resolution passed by the General Assembly also calls on Israel and Hamas to release all hostages.

The Gaza ceasefire resolution was approved by 158 votes out of 193, with the United States, Israel and seven other countries voting against the resolution, while 13 were absent.

The General Assembly also adopted a resolution in favor of the aid agency UNRWA, with 159 votes in favor, 99 votes against, and 11 absent.

The resolution adopted in favor of UNRWA called on Israel to respect the mandate of the UN agency UNRWA and abide by international law.

The resolution also called for UNRWA to be provided with the necessary support to continue providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip without hindrance.

It should be noted that since the attacks of October 7, 2023, 44,805 Palestinians have been killed and more than 106,257 injured in the Israeli aggression. More than half of the killed and injured are children and women.
